A yacht tour was organized for the Neuromuscular Disorders Association of Turkey The Turkish Shipbuilders' Association (GISBIR) supported a yacht tour on the Bosphorous for the disabled members of the Neuromuscular Disorders Association of Turkey on the dates of 20-21 May 2015, followed by a dinner for the participants. The tour was organized at the Well-abled Yacht, which is honored as the first of its kind in terms of its features. The Well-abled Yacht is designed for the people who are defined in society as handicapped either for congenital reasons or due to a disease or an accident.
Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) donated a Generator with a capacity of 25 KVA to an Animal Shelter in Istanbul on 30 January 2015. The assembling of the generator was made by GISAS Shipbuilding Co. Inc. 50 healthy and disabled dogs are taken care of in the shelter, which is located in Polonezkoy, Beykoz, Istanbul.
Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) made a donation consisting of 1000 blankets, thanks to its social responsibility project, to the Municipality of Tuzla Aid Agency Gönül Elleri Çarşısı, which was founded within the Municipality of Tuzla to provide social solidarity. The managers of the Municipality of Tuzla Aid Agency Gönül Elleri Çarşısı delivered their thanks to GISBIR for the donation.
Naval Academy Commander Rear Admiral Mesut Ozel visited the Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) Headquarters on the date of 04 November 2014. Rear Admiral Mesut Ozel participated GISBIR Board Meeting held by Mr Murat Kiran, the President GISBIR and GISBIR Board Members. Rear Admiral expressed their appreciation to GISBIR for sponsoring the redesign of the Naval Academy's Student Regimental Command Gangway. Stating the importance of the good relations between GISBIR and the Naval Academy, Rear Admiral Mesut Ozel presented a thank you plaque to Mr Murat Kiran, the President. presented the Rear Admiral a plaque as a remembrance.
Turkish Shipbuilders’ Association (GISBIR) delivered aid in kind and made donation to Maltepe Gülsuyu Primary School in Istanbul Turkey within a social responsibility project. GISBIR Board took a decision to undertake a refurbishment project for the principal’s office, deputy principal’s office and teacher’s lounge with aid in kind. In addition, due to their unfavorable economic conditions of the students, 100 winter coats, 100 pairs of winter boots and 100 tshirts were donated to the students of Gülsuyu Primary School, Having stated that this far-reaching aid provided by GISBIR was of great importance for the students and the school, Muzaffer Yeşilova, the Principal, thanked Orhan Torlak, GISBIR Vice President and Süheyl Demirtaş, the Secretary-General.
Turkish Shipbuilders' Association (GISBIR) supported the Turkish Red Crescent Blood Donation Campaign in Tuzla Shipyards Region, Istanbul on 5 February 2013 intended for GISBIR, GISAS Shipbuilding Industry Co. Inc. and all shipyard workers. GISBIR Secretary-General Suheyl DEMIRTAS and GISBIR Secretariat met Dr. Burak KIZANLIK, Manager Kartal Blood Donation Centre and Mrs. Gamze KALIN, Blood Donator Acquisition Specialist at 11.00 o'clock in GISAS Corporate Health and Security Unit. Following doing the necessary tests and filling out the forms, blood donation was completed.
